IGNITE Rally in Parkersburg
Although the winter weather is trying hard to keep us down this year, we were super excited to get to have fun at our Parkersburg IGNITE Rally! Our speaker was Chika Anyanwu from southern CA, so she had a great time experiencing our snowy weather while being here to share with our young people why she's on fire for the Lord. These day-long rallies are an opportunity for middle and high school teens to have fun as members of the Catholic church, being goofy, living out loud, and having conversations about the Lord's goodness, which compels us to be part of the church community. We have upcoming rallies scheduled in Wheeling, Charleston, and Inwood, so check out the calendar for more details.
March for Life
In solidarity with thousands of people, adults and teens from all over our diocese participated in the annual March for Life in Washington, DC last week. Together we stood for the rights of those who can't be their own voice. The youth office loves to peacefully speak out with the others of our diocese and nation who believe in God's most fundamental human rights. This included meeting up in the eastern panhandle for a night of prayer, attending the Mass for Life for teens prior to the march at the Capital One Center in DC, and then standing in solidarity as a part of this peaceful demonstration. It was wonderful marching with--and running into even more!--of our own families.
